About US
Hi there! My name is Robbie, and I'm the founder of Atomic Island. We are a small independent studio crafting animated short films and visual development.
Our debut project, The Field, is currently in production. We'll be posting updates and artwork to this site and our social accounts as the project develops.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is The Field?
The Field is a project that we have been developing for the last several years. It tells the story of a time after ours, where humanity is picking up the pieces after a technological collapse that left the world in ruins. After a catastrophic accident brings two strangers together, they find themselves lost within the remnants of a dead city, and must confront the ghosts of the old world as they fight to survive and find their way back home.
The story will be told through a series of animated short films. While the project is in development, we'll be sharing concept art, works in progress, and other media to show our process and highlight various aspects of the story, world, and characters.
We've been fortunate to work with a number of amazing artists to help bring this project to life. Here's a list of everyone who has contributed to the project so far!

Are you working on any other projects?
Yes! While The Field is our primary focus at the moment, we have some other projects in various stages of development.
How is your work created?
Most of our work is made in Blender, with the help of some third-party plugins made by the Blender community. We use a few other other tools in our pipeline, such as:
Da Vinci Resolve
Ableton Live
Clip Studio Paint
Affinity Photo
Unreal Engine
We are also continually experimenting with new tools and looking for ways to improve our workflow.
Do you use generative AI in your work?
No. Atomic Island is committed to avoiding the use of generative AI tools. We occasionally utilize AI for in-house coding tasks, such as building Blender tools for internal use, but all artwork and shared material is made by humans.
